Soccernet’s montage for the big game tomorrow:
Ugh, my nerves will be shredded! No beach ball jokes plz.
I’m somewhat confused by the time change as the US doesn’t change for another week (thanks Bush!) but Europe, ahead as always, changes tonight. Oh well, I’ll tune in early just in case!

So goodbye then, Premier League 08-09. Second best team in the country, but… not quite good enough. Thanks Sami for a great 10 years!
Goodbye also Toons. Will you be back and what will happen to Michael Owen?
If you look at the table, you see that 2 draws were what made the dfifference. In a season with 38 games. Win those two draws and you have the same number of points as Utd but with a better goal difference…

One week later, one amazing victory later.
These three significant victories in a row (against Real Madrid in the Bernabéu 4-0, against Man U at Old Trafford 4-1, and now against Villa at Anfield 5-0*) are the most imperious performances in a row I can remember seeing.
And I started supporting Liverpool in the mid-1970s.
*Brad Friedel should not have been sent off, though no doubt it was a penalty. It was sporting and appropriate of the Kop to applaud him and chant his name as he walked off.

well it doesn’t take a genius to say that this is the weekend lost the Premiership. Just watched them draw with Everton after going ahead from a Stevie G wonder strike and then Everton get a late equaliser through bad defending.
Liverpool stay in 2nd place, have played one more game than Utd, AND have to go to Old Trafford for the return match.
Beside all that though Liverpool just don’t look up for it.
