Bluetooth and GPS for mobile devices

Filed under: Surveillance — ubikcan @ 6:50 am

Two GPS companies were recently bought out, and plans announced to install a better kind of GPS in mobile devices that even works indoors:

British microchip designer CSR (CSR.L) said on Monday it would make an all-in-one GPS (global positioning system) and Bluetooth chip for mobile gadgets after it bought up two GPS specialists…It is also likely to open up new a host of new uses for phones and mobile gadgets such as allowing worried parents to track children and giving emergency services a way of locating casualties.

The chip combines both Bluetooth and GPS at a lower price and that works in more places including “deep” urban areas.
