This might not get the press it’s getting if Pelago hadn’t been founded by former Amazon executives, attracting $7.4m in venture capital.
Whrrl is Pelago’s first release and according to descriptions it’s a mobile and map-based social review site. Perhaps its target audience of 18-20 year olds is why I find it hard to see the use of this (compare with the comments I made about YourStreet).
It might be useful, but as always depends on the community that grows up around it.
